We are in front of this dillema, as many users asked to have an up to date place for every Amiga platform programing out there. Tell as your opinion. This would be more than useful for us.

Should the OS4Coding continue being a place only for AmigaOS 4.x programming?
While i choice "all platforms should be supported" (because i see how good UB when it not infected, and when all tags works fine), i still think its a bit hard for now to revert-back, just because domain name already "os4coding", and for sure, some aros-morphos developers will be a bit out of interest already.
This is true, however as I said in another post somewhere, I don't think other versions should be specifically excluded. Like OS4depot.net - it focuses on software for OS4, yet there are applications on there that work quite happily under OS3... But they're relevant because they also work properly on OS4.

Put it like this: If you supported all OSes equally (and did not have "OS4" in the domain name), then (IMHO) I think you'd see a mass-exodus of people from UtilityBase.
At it's best, UtilityBase is a great place (lots of helpful people, lots of useful info), but has also seemingly been on a gradual decline of near-neglect (malware infections, no ability to quote code anymore (!!), etc).
It would be nice if we had enough OS4 coders *with the spare time to contribute*, but I think most are busy with their own projects (me included). By covering all OSes, you'd have a greater pool of potential contributors, and UtilityBase has just-about enough to make it work.
BTW, if you do go multi-OS, then I hope you will have an area for the E programming language.

I agree about the domain name, that's why I have an other domain (amiga-c.info). So, os4coding will redirect to the new domain, where will be this site with different name.
I would like to thank you for your time to discuss this matter.

Amiga-c.info is makes it sound like it's C centric. While most use C, we also have C++, E, AREXX, Python (which I'd like to see Amiga specific tutorials for), Rebol, AMOS and various forms of BASIC. IIRC, there are also Pascal compilers too. No doubt I've missed others too.

To turn away a programmer because he uses AROS or MOS or even OS3.x, is to turn away his experience, ideas, and advice.
I think we would benefit form having these guys around, and I'm sad to see UtilityBase in such poor condition. I'd like to see this site open to others, and if it's decided to do that then I think the os4coding.net domain name needs rethought as well.
Either way, I'm happy I found this site.
I'm surprised at the current poll results heavily favouring keeping the site OS4-only. (I hope the poll won't MAKE the decision, but merely help inform the decision.)
I mean sure, in an ideal world I'd prefer it to stay OS4 only, but I'm not convinced we have enough people posting/replying about programming problems to make it a self-sustaining site. Seems to me that whatever we might wish, the reality is that programmers from other (very similar) OSes would be a great asset to the site.

The poll closed. You can see the results here. The result from the talk of this poll is that OS4Coding will continue as AmigaOS4 specific website for developers, and we are glad for that.
We would like to thank you all for you help and for expressing your opinion.
