Id like to know if anyone uses a project managment server such as fusionforge or redmine. Is it hard to set up? Id really like to have something like that so I can have subversion or git for some private projects, university projects, for myself or with a couple other people per project.

project server setup?
I use redmine at work.. is really simple.. if you have a Mac there is also an AllInOne installer..

I use Trac + subversion on a Linux machine. Here are details/scripts on how to set it up. Redmine does look better than Trac, but the installation procedure was so complicated that I never bothered trying it. Trac, by contrast, can be installed with a simple apt-get and adjusting some apache config files (if you're using apache). Installing plugins is relatively easy too. Redmine may or may not be simpler to install now (e.g., using the all-in-one installer afxgroup points to for Mac OSX).
For public/open-source projects, github provides a pretty complete project management system for git. You can also use it for private projects, at a cost.
