gdb working with AOS4.1 update 4

kas1e's blog made me try gdb again under AOS4.1 upd 4 on my SAM440ep
My version is the one kas1e mentions
GNU gdb 6.3 (AmigaOS build 20050719)

The n (next) and s (step) commands however are acting here as a c (continue)

Is this a SAM440ep problem?
What is your experience?

@JosDuchtIT Yeah, can confirm

@JosDuchtIT
Yeah, can confirm that there is problem with it (on pegasos2 as well), and i think its just because when authors works on GDB port, they just go easy way, and put one action on those commands. I also notice it right in the first tryes, just forget to point out about it in article.

What all has happened for gdb

What all has happened for gdb to begin working better again? Have these improvements to the OS/kernel been thorough and targetted toward debugging tools? Is there more needing done?

I ask because there had been two bounties on amigabounty site about debuggers, one to update/improve gdb, and another for a new debugger. Is the OS/kernel to a point where it makes sense to dust off those old bounties and look for takers?

@billt Current gdb already

@billt
Current gdb already works for most necessary parts since update3 (till update3 it was really buggy, now its again usable). Check article about in my blog here.

I read on Hyperion's forum, that there is some work on new version of GDB is going on, but when it will be released no one know. Also as for new debugger, alfkil works on it (db101, its here on site in the coding toos/debugger section). I.e. in theory works on both is going on.
