About the blog posts

There is a thought to categorize the blog posts. What I mean is to add a way to chose a category about the blog post content. The categories I am thinking to add there are the following:
Guide
Thought
Opinion

Do you think any other category to add?

What will also change by that will be the block at the front page with the latest blog posts. I will create there a block with tabs of each category of the above, where someone can see the latest blog posts depending the category of them, f.ex. the latest guide blog posts.

When the above will be ready, I will choose the category for each blog post. But after that, anyone of you can change the category for your posts.

I would like to read your opinion on that.

Awesome idea ! You know how

Awesome idea ! You know how long we wait it :) By this way we can sort the good articles in one way, plain blog-posts in another way, and opinion/through in another. Even as you describe it will be already good enough (through i think that from time to time users will miss where make a posts, but that can be relocated manually later, if something just not fits into some categorie).

As for names of categories, all is fine, but maybe "misc" categorie will be helpfull, when something will not fits by any reassons to the other ones ? Maybe also something like "about my projects" can be fine (or they should be just in the my-projects in general ?)

I would suggest a category

I would suggest a category "project" or "project_followup" for projects (co)authored by members.
"Guide" then would contain guidance on tools you use including of course AOS, gcc etc

I would like to take the occasion to congratulate you for the powerfull, clear an userfriendly interface of this forum. The Blog is a big plus.
The only point which was not obvious at first glance was how you start up a new forum thread. Once you know it's easy though.

@JosDuchIt

I think by "Guide" means "Article". I.e. programming related articles (like those by Trixie and Rigo). But maybe "Guide" indeed a bit confusing, and should be "Tutorial" or "Article".

As for "project" imho we already have that in "My Projects" ?

Topic- or type-categorized

Topic- or type-categorized blog posts would be nice but I'd much rather have the ability to save working versions of my articles. I mean, so that I can work on the text continuously, and only publish the final version. Poor old UtilityBase worked this way and it was very practical!

@Kas1e You are right. "My

@Kas1e You are right. "My Projects" is there allready

A remark though: for a new entry you have to enter in fact a new project. (The entry is identified as a new project and you have to enter things as version etc)
One should be able to simply add a new article to an existing project if this has to be used as a 'blog'

Today I created the

Today I created the categorization for the blog posts. You will see a blog post type field when you try to create a new blog post. Please, choose one that is exactly equivalent with the content of the post.

The categories that we added are the following:
Opinion is for posts where you express your opinion on various matters about programming.
Project relative is for posts that have to do with projects that you create.
Thought is about posts where your thoughts or concerns on various programming issues. It's more suitable for theoretical matters.
Tutorial is for posts that try to teach things, have code examples and show the way to build things.

We updated all the blog posts to be matched with the new categories. In case you believe that we put them in wrong category, you can edit your posts and change the category type.
